TAILGATE/TOOLBOX SAFETY MEETINGS
The featured program at our
October 14th chapter meeting was on
tailgate/toolbox safety meetings.Tailgate/toolbox safety meetings
are 10-15 minute on-the-job meetings
held to keep employees alert to
work-related accidents and
illnesses. They have provided
their worth by alerting employees to
workplace hazards, and by preventing
accidents, illnesses and on-the-job
injuries.
Raise your hand if you are going
to promote safety in your workplace!
"It was a beautiful, sunny
day Saturday at Tempe Sports
Complex as the members of
the PDCA softball team
gathered at the field for
their first game of the
Salute A Soldier Charity
Softball Tournament. The
double elimination
tournament began with a
procession of the flags by
the honor guard of Project
Challenge and the recital of
the Pledge of Allegiance.
At 8:00 AM the PDCA team,
led by coach Ed Mowry, took
the field. For many of the
players it was the first
time in many years they had
stepped onto the field.
Tension was high and there
was excitement in the air.
The team's line -up included
Russ Hickman at second base,
Cass Robertson as catcher,
Greg Gilman at third base,
Brian in left field, Jay
Lickus at shortstop, Scott
Gilbert on the mound, John
Coleman at first base, Jerry
Austin in left center, Shawn
Dunn as designated hitter,
Tom Kamka in right center
and Roger Adams in right
field. As luck would have
it, the first game was a
short one with the team
losing 10 to 0 in 3 innings.
But the second game brought
new hope. Coach Ed Mowry had
his "A" gamebsp;
