EPA Lead Renovator Training
Beginning in April 2010, contractors performing renovation, repair
and painting projects that disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care
facilities, and schools built before 1978 must be certified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination.
The new rule implements major fines for non-compliance.
Firms performing renovations must ensure that: All individuals performing activities that disturb painted surfaces on behalf of the firm are either Certified Renovators or have been trained by a Certified Renovator, and a Certified Renovator is assigned to each renovation and performs all of the certified renovator responsibilities. Are you prepared? Learn more about the new EPA rule at www.epa.gov/lead, and specifically for contractor’s requirements, see the Small Entity Compliance Guide to Renovate Right http://www.epa.gov/lead/pubs/sbcomplianceguide.pdf. To become a Certified Renovator an individual must successfully complete an eight-hour initial renovator training course offered by an accredited training provider.
* There is a maximum limit of 20 students per session. The first 20 registrants will be added to the Session 1 roster. Session 2 will be held, if needed, for any additional registrants up to 20 max.
